How do I use Kindernet to search the Internet?
Kindernet only searches pages that
are great for kids, so you can find what you are looking for faster.
To use Kindernet, just type the
word or words you want to search for. If you search for
electromagnet
we will look for pages about electromagnets.
If you want to search for electricity and magnetism, just type:
electricity and magnetism
If you want to learn how to make an electomagnet, you may want to search only for that phrase. To do this, put it in “quotation marks” then we know you are
searching for that phrase:
"make an electromagnet"
You don’t have to use capital
letters, so you can search for MAGnet or magneT and you
will get the same results.
If you want to make sure that you don’t search for a word, put a minus
(take-away) sign in front of it. For example you may want to search only for electricity:
electricity -magnet
The minus sign means you will
only see pages without the word magnet.
How can I add a site
to Kindernet?
Have you seen a website that is not included in Kindernet’s
search, and you think it should be? You can tell us about the site on our “suggest
a site” page. We will then have a look at the page and if we agree with you, we’ll
add it to Kindernet.
